We are delighted that  THE SALT OF THE EARTH was nominated for the Academy Award 2015 in the category Best Documentary Feature. The co-directors Wim Wenders and Juliano Ribeiro Salgado allow to gain an insight into life and works of social documentalist and photo journalist Sebastião Salgado. His black and white photo reports about workers and refugees in all parts of the world are both intense and poetic; at last Salgado turned in his work to indigenous peoples and nature untouched by men.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences bestows the 87^th Academy Awards on February 22^nd, 2015 in Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, USA.
